Apple Watch Ultra depth gauge not working

AWU 1 does not detect that I am underwater. When I open the depth app and go underwater it does not detect that. This worked fine last year, when I was putting the Watch in a depth of 20cm the app auto launched and showed me the depth. Now it refuses to work. The Watch has been reset 3 times (unpair and pair) due to another issue.

Could this be related to an issue with the Watch altimeter that is not accurate and counts about 200 floors a day. Is there any connection between the two?

I am so disappointed from my Apple Watch Ultra, it became unreliable for fitness tracking.

Hi. Wonder if you figured it out or not. I’m having the same issue with the depth gauge and flights climbed. Apples solution to the problem is I pay 499 to have the watch repaired or replaced by them. Unbelievable!! My AWU 1 is about 18 months old and still like new. No physical damage. I’m sure Apple is aware of the issue but they refuse to admit it and/or repair free of cost. Hopefully enough people complain where something is done. Thxs

Hi,

Unfortunately no :-(

Both functions refuse to work properly, been at the sea a few more times sine then and tried to go deeper, but the watch is unable to detect I am underwater. When checking my altimeter at sea level it jumps between -15 to 100 meters. Spoke with Apple lab, and they want 550 euro to replace the watch!

This is definitely my last Apple Watch! A cheap Garmin is more reliable.
