Why does FaceTime mutes me when someone shares their screen on my iPhone 16 Pro?

Whenever I’m on FaceTime and someone shares their screen, I get muted. I can easily unmute myself afterwards but it’s really annoying. I figured it just mutes the other person so that the person sharing doesn’t get interrupted. That would mean that if I share MY screen, the other person would be muted, right? WRONG! I’m still the one that gets muted! I’ve checked all my settings and there’s nothing indicating that I would be muted when on FaceTime. Has anyone found a solution for this? I visited a Reddit thread and no one had any suggestions.
