Why does Safari zoom in when I select a text box?

Whenever I click on a text box in Safari it zooms in as the keyboard appears. How do I stop this? I would like to zoom when I want it to zoom not when apple want me to zoom!

Why doesn't Safari zoom to full width like other apps? Why is it that Safari will only zoom vertically but not horizontally? This drives me crazy! I don't like using the full-screen zoom where the menu bar disappears, like when you click the green finder window button. I want it to zoom to the full-screen size but leave the menu bar visible. Pretty much every other app, including other Apple apps, will do this when you option-click the green button or click Zoom in the Window menu, EXCEPT Safari. Is there a reason for this or is it simply an oversight? Is there any way to change this? I hate that I have to pull the window to the width of the screen.

Safari changing zoom level of pages. Since I recently upgraded to Ventura I have noticed that sometimes just moving the cursor across a page will cause the page to reformat at a high zoom level. The setting for the page still say it is at 100%, which is correct. I can often fix this by going to another page and then returning to the original one. Any suggestions?
