Stop Safari auto-zoom

Is there any way to stop Safari auto zooming in on the input fields? Tried all Safari and accessibility options - nothing works.

all responses on google talk about page CSS code.

How to disable auto-zoom in on form fields in safari I am so frustrated but finally happy I figured out the root of my Safari annoyance. it doesn’t matter what page I visit, when there is a form field that I click on ( text box, like the Google search bar in the desktop browser version of the page, or if you click on a form field in a page to enter your name or or other information), or the page auto drops the cursor in the form field, Safari will automatically zoom in to the field. this is incredibly annoying. picture this scenario: you visit a mortgage lending site and you are filling an application that has 37 sections you have to click on and enter personal information. Most of this is information you use so frequently you can quickly answer and enter each response into each field. But every time you click the field it zooms in, so you can see what is before or after the field. So you have to zoom out to see the instructions. and you have to do this 37 times. another scenario. You visit a Google search site and the site auto zooms but not enough you can easily tell. You end up scrolling the page up and down looking for a submit or send or next page button… and you can’t find it. Only to realize you have to zoom out just a little to see the hidden button. imagine how many company’s lose sales or clicks or ad revenue because of what’s unseen on a page. from what i can tell this is a fairly well documented issue but only from the web designer / coder perspective. There are instructions for how a designer or site manager can input some code to their site to the fix the issue on the backend so it doesn’t happen to their users. but how can I as a user fix this clear bug for all sites I visit? How can I prevent my page from auto zooming? I have already tried setting page zoom to way under 100% by default in safari settings. It does NOT change the behavior of the “auto zoom on form field”.

Disable automatic zoom of the entire page when typing in text fields in iOS Safari It would be helpful to add an option to disable the automatic zooming of the entire page when typing in text fields in Safari on iOS devices. Currently, when the text field zooms, it results in the zooming of the whole page, which causes many elements to go out of view and the remaining elements to be repositioned. In most cases, pages do not require automatic zooming, and it would be preferable to keep the page layout intact while filling out forms on websites. Having the ability to disable automatic page zoom in Safari settings, while still allowing manual zooming using the pinch gesture, would improve the user experience without affecting the overall functionality of the browser

Safari changing zoom level of pages. Since I recently upgraded to Ventura I have noticed that sometimes just moving the cursor across a page will cause the page to reformat at a high zoom level. The setting for the page still say it is at 100%, which is correct. I can often fix this by going to another page and then returning to the original one. Any suggestions?

have you tried viewing those pages with chrome or Firefox? And does it behave in the same way?

Yeah, looks like they all do that, so it’s a phone thing, not browser specific?

has this always been the case or is this a recent change? If so, then try going into settings general, and then reset settings and see if that helps. If not, if this is always been the case, then this is probably how the website developer has coded their pages to behave with certain screen sizes

Ones that I’ve tried - yes. What I understood reading some articles is that this happens when text is <16px in size.

edit: doesn’t happen here, but I guess it’s due to above.
