Why is my default Apple Card being declined for purchases?

Apple card is default card but can't make any purchases. It's always declined

Change your default card or remove it.

How to change the default card for Apple Pay on your iPhone

Open the Wallet app.
Touch and hold the payment card that you want to set as your default card.
Drag the card in front of your other cards

In the Wallet app, tap the card that you want to remove.
Tap the More button, then tap Card Details.*
Scroll down and tap Remove Card.

Change or remove the payment cards that you use with Apple Pay - Apple Support
