Siri is suggesting sensitive information

out of nowhere for a week now Siri has started suggesting a note out of many notes that I have. I can’t remember all of my passwords so I put my log in and passwords into that note. Siri has never made any suggestions for anything, ever for me. There was another user on this forum who experienced the exact same issue in 2020 but the thread was closed. Why is Siri just suggesting the one note that has our log in and PW information out of the blue? It’s made me feel very uncomfortable and afraid that’s it’s offering up my sensitive data. Is there any reasonable explanation why this is occurring and can I remove Siri from my phone completely? Thank you in advance

Why are you using a note to store passwords? That's what the "Passwords" app is for.

Under what circumstances is Siri suggesting the note?

If you use it frequently, she may believe you will want to use it again, thus the suggestion.

You can turn Siri off entirely in settings if you like.

While smartphones themselves can't harbor malicious intent, we must actively fortify their defenses. Tighten your device settings, be mindful of how you sync, and protect your digital treasure trove by safeguarding sensitive information with your loved ones. Don't underestimate the power of simple security measures. Employ strong passwords, enable two-factor authentication, and regularly update software.

However, the vulnerabilities lie in our usage and connectivity. Unsecured settings, careless syncing, and oversharing sensitive information can transform this innocuous device into a Trojan horse for attackers. Vigilance is key.

If you feel an unauthorized person/app is remotely using, controlling or monitoring your device, then that is possible only if you have done one or more of the following Don'ts...

  1. Don't hand over an iPhone to kids or to a stranger without Enabling Guided Access
  2. Don't share Apple IDs
  3. Don't Jailbreak
  4. Don't share sensitive information pertaining to your device
  5. Don't give in to Phishing
  6. Don't plug in your device in Airports and Public places through third-party cables and trust the device. Beware of Juice Jacking. (Especially in India)
  7. Don't leave your iPhone unlocked and unattended in public places like offices, schools, malls, etc.

If one of the above is true then quickly change the Apple ID Password and Return iPhone settings to their defaults.

To improve my understanding of the phenomenon, it would be highly beneficial if you could share a full screenshot (Do not crop it). Visual representations carry a greater impact than written descriptions.

Please remember that this is a public forum, so when attaching a screenshot, please avoid including any personal credentials such as IP addresses, card details, email IDs, Apple IDs, IMEI numbers, serial numbers, phone numbers, order IDs, or any identifiable location information if you are sharing a map.

With the limited information that you have provided, It is hard to even guess the problems faced by you.

You can also go to Settings > Apps > Notes, and turn off the Siri options there so it will no longer use Notes for Siri Suggestions.

You are getting the Siri Suggestion because of your use of the Note the same way Maps will give you a Siri Suggestion for how long it will take you to get to a location based on your previous activity.
