What doesn't my books app let me turn the page?

This week on Sunday (5/18/25) I downloaded a book on my iPad and shared it to my books app. It has been working perfectly fine till this Thursday (5/22/25), when I press on my book to read it I can’t do a single thing (can’t turn pages, check what page I’m on, check the chapters, etc). I have tried reopening the app multiple times, resetting my device, and trying opening different books to see if the others books were working (they weren’t working either). Can someone please help me?

Often restarting an iPad will restore order if something is not working as expected.


Else: Wondering if your iPad OS Version may need updating ? ( ie: There are often bug-fixes, and added security)

You can check in Settings > General > Software Updates to see if there's an update ready to install.

Note : It is always wise to back up iPad data before updating (or upgrading) the iPad OS version
