Changing track icons in GarageBand for iPad

Hello Community.

I’ve got what might seem to be a mundane question but I can’t seem to remedy the problem so putting it out there. I am arranging a modern musical using GarageBand. Needless to say there are several tracks. In order to identify the tracks quicker and easier, I have attempted to change the track icons to ones that make more sense to the instrument. For Violins I am trying to select the icon which includes the letters Vl. For Cello, I want to use the icon with the letters VC. For brass, I am trying to use the icon showing a trumpet, sax and trombone. Each time I set these icons up and then close the app, when I open the project again, the icons revert to the generic icon of the plugin being used (GSI Mini Orchestra). I start by

  1. selecting the icons option for the individual track.
  2. I then select the icon I want to use.
  3. Once I see the icon for that track has changed, I leave the icon section.

I can’t see what I’m doing wrong (if anything). I’m trying to see if it is something I’m missing out, or if it is a bug. All helpful responses welcome.

thanks.

Brian.
