I used ShortCuts app to successfully change the name of an Icon on my screens.
but when I go into the Icon I call Garage Doors it actually opens up the MYQ app that then shows the status of my two garage doors, but over the top of that status is an annoying advertising banner that is trying to sell me other security camera equipment

That would be from that app advertising you the security equipment and not Apple or your iPhone. The app may or may not offer a way to remove it or a premium subscription with no ads, you'll have to contact the app developers.
