How can I unlock a carrier-locked iPhone?

I bought the 14 and it had an error and had to send it in to get fixed they replaced the whole phone and now i can’t access to set up my phone with a provider since they gave me a phone that has locked provider I contacted everyone and they told me it’s my thing I had to figure out. I contacted apple support, other phone companies to unlock it and no one could unlock this device. I’m now on month 4 or 5 trying to figure this out but everyone keeps me going on a loop with go contact apple or go contact your provider. It’s just sad that I wasted money on a new phone and never got to actually use it since it just been collecting dust on a shelf.

If your phone is paid off depending on carrier they can’t refuse to release the device

100% incorrect. If you are not a customer with them, they are under no obligation whatsoever to unlock the phone.

Wrong. Requirements vary widely from country to country. In most of the world, the carriers are under no obligation to unlock the phone whether it's paid off or not.

then there’s the issue remember to read terms and conditions and understand them. Apple does the manufacturing of the product but the providers and retailers sheesh.
