How can I remove my account settings from an iMac without the administrator password?

My husband & I have separated. He is the administrator on the iMac. I want to remove my settings as he is keeping the computer but it says as he’s the administrator he needs to log in first. I do not have his password. Is there a way around this or do I have to wait for him to do it?

thanks

Meanwhile, you can erase any data from your own folders in your user account.

If you are using your own Apple Account (Apple ID) in your user account, then sign out of that to stop any iCloud file and photo sharing/syncing.

Everything in these folders can be erased: Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Movies, Music, Pictures & Public.

Don’t forget to empty the trash.

I’d suggest also that you can delete whatever is in the Library folder, but I’m not certain there wouldn’t be immediate operational consequences, though I doubt it.

Finally, using another Apple device, change the password to your own Apple Account and remove the computer from your list of trusted devices, if it is there.

Is there a way to delete my Apple e mail folder on the iMac without actually deleting my emails?
I think I’ve managed to delete my folders/save to iCloud but the mail app is still there & my mail is visible upon opening.

You're welcome.

Yes, you can delete the Apple email account from the Mail app without losing your emails. These are stored on Apple's email server.
