Keep getting logged into my sons iMac...

Hi

I recently set up an old iMac for my son to use, I created an admin account on the machine so that I could manage things on it (havent given him admin).

The problem im having is that often when he goes to shut down it asks for my password as for some reason it appears im also logged into the machine, even though I didn't actively log in!

Im a little confused to how this may happen.

anybody able to help?

thanks

We need to see what all is running & machine specs, a report from this will not display any personal info...

EtreCheck is a FREE simple little diagnostic tool to display the important details of your system configuration and allow you to copy that information to the Clipboard. It is meant to be used with Apple Support Communities to help people help you with your Mac. It will not display any personal info.

Pastebin is a good place to paste the whole report if you capture the URL while there…

Workable but harder for me to work with...the Note tool on the bottom of this editor's toolbar, as shown in the image, to copy and paste the output from EtreCheck. In a Reply before you click post, look for this to add longer texts...

Hi, thanks, but this doesn’t seem to be the issue I don’t think. When I go to my keychain login settings it’s not set to lock at all.

it’s odd that sometime I will come to the machine and I will be logged in without even explicitly doing so. Other times I’m not.

any help still welcome as my son still needs me to log out of my user area before he can shut down

thanks
