How can I digitize old Maxell camcorder tapes using an AtoD converter on my M4 Mac Studio?

A VHS to digital capture card like this should do the job.

The blurb at the top of the advert says it works with Windows but if you scroll down to the manufacturer's instructions it shows how to use it on a Mac.

Can you describe the type of camcorder tapes that you are dealing with and the model and make of the camcorder that you are planning playing these tapes back on for subsequent capture in FCP. Just trying to establish whether these tapes are indeed analog ( analogue) or digital in the first instance.

I bought that capture card a few days later and can confirm that it works well with analogue footage copying my VHS tapes from my VHS recorder.
