Filed Edits are Not Getting Saved in Terminal on Ventura 13.7.4.

I am trying to add Host entries to the "Hosts" File.

Below is are the steps as I understand them:

Open Terminal: You

can find Terminal in Finder > Go > Utilities, or use Spotlight Search

(Command + Space) and type "Terminal".

Navigate to the host file: Use

the following command in Terminal: cd /private/etc.  - [SUCCESS]

Open the host file with a text - [SUCCESS w/Nano]

editor: Use sudo nano hosts (or sudo vi

hosts if you prefer). You'll need your administrator password to gain

access.

Edit the hosts file: Add [SUCCESS]

or modify entries in the format IP_ADDRESS hostname.

Save the changes: If [COMMANDS Indicated SUCCESS]

using nano, press Ctrl+X, then Y to confirm, then Enter. If

using vi, press Escape, then :wq to write and quit, or :q! to quit

without saving.

File Header Indicates Modified however when I reselect the file. Blank rows appear where my edits were provided....?

I am running Ventura 13.7.4

Help Please !!!

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 13.7
