Why are there ads on my Apple TV subscription?

We have a subscription to The Amazing Race on Apple TV. We’ve never had to endure ads until this week. In addition to not being able to watch this weeks episode on our big screen TV (as we have done the previous 10 weeks), we now have to watch at least two minutes of ads each break for something we’ve ALREADY PAID FOR! What is going on?!?

It appears that this show is on CBS and on Paramount+. A Paramount+ subscription can be available through your Apple Account, but it is not part of an Apple TV+ subscription.

For issues with what Paramount+ is offering and any ads that they may run, please contact Paramount+ Help Center. Their live content is said to have ads, but their on-demand content should not have that, for select subscription plans. Why are commercials on some shows and not others? - Paramount+ Help Center
