Apple Music does not reliably work with Google Cast

Fine, so now I have an Android tablet that's supposed to work with Google Cast. My other apps are fine, but Apple Music forgets how to connect with the Google Cast devices constantly, requiring me to go through an ever-shifting series of steps to get them to connect again. So annoying! And even when it does work, and it connects, it just decides not to play the first track on a bunch of albums and playlists - permanently! It will just never play them to a Cast device. Stop casting, it plays. Start casting, it just skips to track two. Always and forever.
