Help suggestion - how to rotate an image with Preview - use Pages!

Just posting this for those who are frustrated at not being able to subtly rotate an image in preview. I have to do this all the time as I deal with pictures of receipts that workers send and they are always crooked and crazy.

Use Pages like this:

  1. Open a new blank document in Pages
  2. File (menu), Convert To Page Layout
  3. Drop PDF of what you want to straighten onto the blank page. Size it to full size (as necessary)
  4. Over in the right margin, click the Arrange tab.
  5. Down in the Rotate option, rotate it just a bit to get the page level again.
  6. Then you can Print to PDF to end up with a "corrected" PDF again.

Then if you want you can use the "Insta Alpha" tool to select surrounding parts you don't want to show (like for me the dark backgrounds surrounding receipts). Delete them. They will look gray, but when you print they will not and only your straightened image will print.

Hope this helps someone!!!!!
