How do I prevent Podcasts from 'Up Next' being marked as played in iOS 18.4.1?

This has been going on since iOS 18. Last night my phone updated to iOS 18.4.1 and saw there was a podcast update and hoped this would be fixed but it’s not. When I finish listening to a podcast, the next podcast that features in the ‘Up Next’ section moves to ‘Recently Played’ despite continuous playback being turned off. I’ve missed so many episodes of different podcasts because they are marked as listened to. It’s driving me crazy. Surely there’s a way to fix this now?? A thread before this says it’s was to be fixed in iOS 18.1.
