How do I get Siri to verbally answer instead of making a noise on iPhone?

When I say Hey Siri she only makes a noise and doesn’t speak to me anymore. How can I fix that?

Siri not responding in iPhone 15 I'm getting no response on my iPhone (15) when I say "Siri" (as I always did in the past). "Hey Siri" now elicits the usual "Hmm?" "Uh huh?" etc., but I get no answer to my question. I've checked the settings and think they're right. I didn't change them from the time that Siri worked fine until now. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Keep speaking. If you pause after Hey Siri, Siri will usually say hmmmm or similar
