Can’t control Apple Music on Echo Dot from iPhone like Spotify
I’m currently using Spotify as my main music streaming service, and I have one Echo Dot at home. One of the main reasons I’ve stuck with Spotify is how seamlessly I can control playback on my Echo Dot directly from the Spotify app on my iPhone — using Spotify Connect. I can change songs, pause, skip, control the volume, and see what’s playing in real time, all from my phone.
Now, I’m seriously considering switching to Apple Music, especially because of the Apple One Family bundle that includes Apple TV+ and Apple Music, which would be perfect for my household. But here’s the catch: Although I know it’s possible to link Apple Music to Alexa and play songs with voice commands, it seems like there’s no way to control Apple Music playback on my Echo Dot from the Apple Music app on my iPhone. No option to pause, skip tracks, or see what’s playing — which is a big deal for me. This is basically the one thing stopping me from fully switching to Apple Music. I really want to make use of the Apple One bundle, but I need a way to keep the convenience I have with Spotify.
Is there any workaround to get this kind of remote control for Apple Music on Alexa like with Spotify Connect?
