Logic DMD pads disappearing

Hey,

So I've got this problem for quite some time:

Pads in Drum Machine Designer disappear. At random. Completely.

It's always sounds that I've added to Drum Machine Designer from my own packs, but it doesn't matter how I save the DMD, it also doesn't matter from which drum packs the sounds are or where they're located on my harddrive.

Sometimes it happens when I reopen a project with a DMD, sometimes it happens even as the project is open and I'm working on the track.

Its especially frustrating in the first case, because I ofc don't always remember which sounds I used, since I got dozens of drum packs and hundreds of sounds.

But ofc not only frustrating, this shouldn't happen AT ALL.

Would be really glad if someone could help me out, since this problem keeps happing since 1-2 years, and with that also over all the updates, logic's as well as OS's.

Thanks in advance :)

Hi there,

I have personally never head this issue (M1, Sonoma). The only thing I can say for sure is that DMD uses Quick Sampler when dragging and dropping to DMD cells. Those sample files are automatically saved within the "Quick Sampler" Folder in your Folder Session.

Do you Save Your Files as Folders or Packages? You should use Folders for organizational purposes.

The Sampler data checked below has to do with "Sampler" not "Quick Sampler". Data and Files are saved for "Quick Sampler" not matter what.

This approach will, at the very least, allow you to access those files if you happen to lose them again.

Good luck with everything. Hope that helps.
