Why does fast forwarding skip to the next podcast episode?

I'm having an issue where, if I fast forward to end a podcast episode, the next one in the queue is marked as played. The fast-forwarding goes too far.

Any suggestions?

Adding a podcast to "Play next" doesn't change the viewed order but does cause a podcast to repeat play. How can something as simple as a queue not be a queue????

Why does no longer play next episode but jumps to the next podcast? My podcasts used to play the next episodes, now it jumps to the next podcast instead. Not only can I not just continue on to the next episode of the podcast I chose to listen to, it auto jumps to an entirely different podcast and not even the next unplayed one, but the newest episode of that podcast.

iOS 18 Podcasts can’t skip forward Hopefully others are seeing this issue so I’m not going mad. Often on episodes, I can’t skip forward. Tapping the 30s button just jumps the episode back to the start. The whole episode is there because the position slider works fine but that’s not precise enough for skipping. Has anyone else seen this?
