Apple music disconnects from bluetooth

I usually play music from my iPhone 13 Pro connected to my Marshall Stanmore II speakers via Bluetooth.

I’ve been doing this for years with Spotify, SoundCloud, Tidal, and other streaming platforms without a problem.

Recently I decided to try out Apple Music, and I’ve been trying for a couple of months now.

There are a few things that I don’t like with the UI, but these are annoyances I can live with. It is certainly very good with other content such as curated playlists. However the reason, and the problem, that is annoying enough for me to consider to switch again from the platform is that it randomly disconnects while playing songs!

I’ve been observing it in case the disconnects had a relation to an incoming call, message, or notification. But none of that seemed to cause the interruption. I also been looking whether the cuts happen after finishing a song or something; but this happens anywhere (after a song, in the middle of an album, after a few songs in a playlist, sometimes in the middle of a song!) after apparently random time.

To fix the issue, I need to (every time) go to settings and search my Bluetooth device and connect to it again. Then open Apple Music and hit play and continue playing where it left (I.e. the middle of a song).

The thing is it happens every time, between my first 10mins to the first 2hours music session and randomly enough for me to come to this forum and check.

I’ve been looking at the forum in case there were cases, but none of the cases report similar problems. And the ones that seems to be similar had been closed without an apparent solution.

Obviously is not turn off the device, and reconnect to the Bluetooth again problem as it happens all the time. And as I mentioned I have used these speakers over Bluetooth with other streaming platforms for hours without interruptions (which is what I would expect of Apple Music as well).

I wonder if there is more people having this exact same problem.

I would guess now that I write about this is that Apple Music is not doing something to keep the Bluetooth connection alive when I’m leaving my phone locked in my desktop.

What are all the other streaming platforms doing differently? …

Note: I’m considering leaving Apple music just because of this annoying feat/bug.
