How to hide .numbers extension after 14.4 update?

Ever since the 14.4 update, Numbers is forcing the .numbers extension to be showing on every file. I will do a Get Info on the file and tell it to "Hide extension" but as soon as I edit the file, the extension is shown again and that box is unchecked. It's happening on every Numbers file I open now on 14.4.

I am having the same issue. If I open a numbers file on the numbers iOS app, then look at the file on my MacBook Pro it now shows the file extension. It does not make it visible if I edit a file from my MBP that had it hidden. I checked the numbers folder in files on my iPhone, setting for "Show All Filename Extensions" is set to off.

Pages on iOS so far is unaffected.

Not sure how to turn that off. (I like the extension there for clarity.)

I've seen reports that going in the Finder > Settings > Advanced and deselecting 'Show all filename extensions' doesn't work either. But you might try that and then restart your Mac.

I like the extensions.

I'm not having any problem here (version 14.4, Mac OS 15.4) with files created in 14.4 but I did have to use Get Info to turn off the extensions for files created in earlier Numbers versions. They did not revert back to showing, they stayed the way I set them.
