Changing emoji skin color on mac mini

The hands pressed together emoji is yellow, when I click on it it doesn't show me other color options the way other hand emoji's do. I tried holding down command+control+spacebar but nothing happened.

Changing the emoji skin color on my mac I accidentally clicked the wrong skin tone, how do I change it to the correct one? Saw somewhere in here someone suggested adding it to the favorites and deleting it, but it did not work.

How can I change the skin tone of emojis on macOS? I'm running Ventura 13.5.1 on a MacBook Air (M1 2020).I have tried to change the emoji colour via the Character Viewer and the extra colour options just don't show up when I click and hold on the relevant emoji. I've tried using my Trackpad and using my mouse. Is there a setting somewhere that turns this off? [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Not sure why you aren't seeing that. I'm on my iPad at the moment, but I'm able to choose among the other skin colors.
