Changing the emoji skin color on my mac

I accidentally clicked the wrong skin tone, how do I change it to the correct one?

Saw somewhere in here someone suggested adding it to the favorites and deleting it, but it did not work.

Press and hold and select the color you prefer. Whatever you choose will stick.
