Help! Mac password isn’t working AND I can’t boot into recovery!
Hi! So in short … this is what happened…
Step 1completely wiped my 2017 MacBook Air - running on Monterey.
Step 2) Everything went smoothly, I booted into internet recovery to wipe the disks, and everything booted like brand new after that.
Step 3) I personalized my settings via System Preferences (including keyboard shortcuts and all of that.
Step 4) I was doing something on my phone and my screen on my Mac timed out … and few minutes later I went to get back into my Mac, input my password …. It won’t take! I’ve attempted 100 times since then … NOTHING!

Additional Information:
1) Upon setting up my Mac after the reset (before the lockout) I did sign into the App Store, however, I hadn’t signed into the System Preferences yet.
2) I attempted to boot into internet recovery so I could just wipe it, because I don’t know another alternative. .. I can’t get into recovery, the furthest that I’m able to get is the password box … which I obviously can’t get to accept my password.
My best guess is that this is a keyboard issue … being that neither my password, nor the recovery key combo will accept…. But either way, I need help! PLEASE tell me there’s something that I’m able to do .. and quickly!
