Unable to swipe down to access Control Center on my iPhone 12 Pro

I am suddenly unable to swipe down in the right hand top corner to open control centre. If on the Home Screen it just opens up the Siri suggestions.

I have done a hard reboot twice and done a software update and I am still unable to access the control centre by swiping down in the top right corner.
