Bugs/missing features in Apple Music for Windows

What I would like fixed in this application (I pay for iTunes match, Apple TV and an Apple music family plan)

  1. Fix that a song never shows it's uploaded, unless you quit the program and open it again.
  2. Fix it so you can rename a song in the program without using Properties. Right now a space key exits you from the process.
  3. Bring back open a playlist in a new window. Cutting this was really a retrograde step.
  4. Be able to set a default view with the details you want instead of always having to set the view to song and remove genre, plays and favourite.
  5. Fix dragging songs into playlists - this is now worse than it's ever been. Impossible to discern if it's been added or not.

I really don't understand the thinking behind the Windows version of this program. It's a fairly horrible GUI. But I am forced to use it in my recording studio. (I cannot go back to iTunes) I could start talking about the Apple Watch version but that is another long list. This music service is not cheap. I pay subscriptions for quite a bit of studio software and it's in the price range of Slate and UAD plugins, in cost per year. They update their software constantly. If they were as clunky as Apple Music on Windows, people would be leaving in droves. I am also a shareholder and if I were ever at a meeting, I would put the complete rewriting of this program right at the top of my list of requests. Apple is a great company. This software is just not worthy of the name.

Again, as an iTunes Match subscriber all of your playlists are captured in your iCloud Music Library. If you switch back to iTunes and sign into your Apple ID they should all come back. You do have to remove Apple Music/Devices/TV first though, as these apps essentially hack iTunes to limit its functions.

You can always revert to Apple Music if you cannot make iTunes work for you. I've switched between the two apps multiple times simply to test things for other people. Apple Music always leaves me disappointed with its lack of features.
