Apple Superdrive stopped working with Seqioua

With all of my Macs I have had ( without an internal optical drive ) my Apple superdrive has always worked perfectly. Since upgrading to Sequoia - it no longer works

It makes click noise , but will not accept CDs

I also have Desktop Parallels and it's stopped working with that too - and that always worked perfectly too

Is this a bug or something that apple has decided for us ?

Anyone know of a work around ?

I'm currently using a adaptor to convert to USB C and that has always worked perfectly

My system is

Mac Studio with Apple 1 M1 Max 64 GB Sequoia 15.3.2

Would appreciate any help

Cheers

Hi Zuraczurx

Thanks for your post and interest

Daft Question , Possibly

But no - No CD in drive - drive does not how up on Finder or in Windows parallel - where as it used to , without issues

I can't help getting frustrated when Apple does this sort of thing without any regard on how much it may affect users

If I had not seen £ 4000 on my Mac Studio - I go back to Windows

Another daft suggestion - have you tried it in all your usb ports? I've got an iPod which won't work in the port on the LHS of my Macbook but works fine on the other two. The LHS port works fine with iPhone and the like.

You could also try going into Activity Monitor and killing the usbmuxd process (use the search to find and make sure you're viewing All Processes if you can't see it).
