If your iPhone screen isn't lighting up when you receive notifications, here are some potential causes and fixes:

1. Check Notification Settings:

  • Go to Settings ➡️ Notifications.
  • Ensure "Allow Notifications” is enabled for the apps you want.
  • Make sure "Lock Screen" is selected under "Alerts."

2. Disable Focus Modes:

  • Swipe down from the top-right corner to open the Control Center.
  • Check if a Focus mode (like Do Not Disturb) is active and turn it off.

3. Turn Off Scheduled Summary:

  • Go to Settings ➡️ Notifications ➡️ Scheduled Summary.
  • Disable this feature if it's on, as it can delay notifications.

4. Restart Your iPhone

  • A simple restart can resolve minor issues.

5. Update iOS:

  • Ensure your iPhone is running the latest iOS version.

If your iPhone 14 notifications aren't turning on with iOS 18.3.2, ensure "Allow Notifications" is enabled for the specific app in Settings > Notifications, and that background app refresh is also enabled.

Here's a more detailed breakdown of potential solutions:

1. Check App-Specific Notification Settings:

  • Open Settings: Go to Settings on your iPhone.
  • Tap Notifications: Select "Notifications" from the Settings menu.
  • Select the App: Find the app you're having trouble with in the list of apps.
  • Toggle "Allow Notifications": Ensure the "Allow Notifications" toggle is switched on.
  • Adjust Notification Style: You can also customize how notifications appear (e.g., with sounds, badges, previews).

2. Verify Background App Refresh:

  • Open Settings: Go to Settings on your iPhone.
  • Tap General: Select "General" from the Settings menu.
  • Tap Background App Refresh: Select "Background App Refresh".
  • Ensure it's Enabled: Make sure "Background App Refresh" is turned on.
  • Check App List: Ensure the app in question is included in the list of apps allowed to refresh in the background.

3. Reinstall the App (if necessary):

  • Delete the App: Delete the app from your home screen.
  • Download Again: Reinstall the app from the App Store.

4. Force Restart Your iPhone:

  • Quickly Press and Release Volume Up: Then quickly press and release the volume down button.
  • Press and Hold Side Button: Press and hold the side button until the Apple logo appears.

5. Update iOS (if necessary):

  • Open Settings: Go to Settings on your iPhone.
  • Tap General: Select "General" from the Settings menu.
  • Tap Software Update: Select "Software Update".
  • Install Updates: If an update is available, install it.
