my phone is not making a notification sound when locked screen is on? Help

Do you wear an Apple Watch? If you do, when the screen is locked notifications will occur only on the watch.

On the watch, open the Control Center by pressing the large button under the round crown and tap on the crescent moon, then Do Not Disturb and choose an option.

Yes I do wear a Apple watch, thank you for this information.

I turned off the mirroring my phone because my watch started making a random beep in the night and was waking me up. Do you know what I might look for in setting so that this doesn't occur if I turn mirror my phone back on?
