Play Counts on iOS not updating macOS Music count

Hi, there was an issue with iOS 17 updating play counts from iOS on macOS’s Music app. With iOS 18.3.2 I’m having the same problem. This is music local to both my computer and my iPhone. Before it would increment play counts when I synced my phone to my Mac. Now it doesn't updating them. Is there a fix for this? or is it YAC Bug in iOS/macOS?

When I listen to a song on my iPhone, it does not show up as played on my MacBook Pro. I see that other users are also reporting this issue since installing IOS 17 which clearly has a bug. This is frustrating as I use smart playlist that reference the "Last Played" as well as "Play Count" information which is not syncing anymore. I have also spent more than 3 hours chatting with Apple Support who has not been able to resolve this issue yet. I am hoping by reporting this, it will help prioritize a fix for this issue in one of the next release updates.

Apple Music Play Counts & Play History on iOS 17.1 Not Syncing or Updating from iPhone to Mac I updated my iPhone 15 Pro to iOS 17.1 and since then, songs I play in Apple Music on my iPhone aren't registering in the Apple Music app on my MacBook. Play counts aren't updating and it doesn't register that the song has been played at all. My "Recently Played" playlist has different songs in it on my iPhone vs my MacBook because songs played on my iPhone aren't registering in the desktop Music app. Songs I've added recently and played numerous times on my phone still show 0 plays and have no time stamp. I know it usually takes time to update but it's been several days now and nothing... Usually play counts update daily, but that's stopped. It was all working fine until the iOS 17.1 update. I've tried toggling the "Use Listening History" and also restarted my iPhone to no luck.

Play counts not updating What does it take to get play counts to work across all devices? If I play a song from my library on my phone, the play count should be reflected in Music on my Mac. Maybe not instantly, but it should update at some point. Recently I've noticed the first song I play on my phone gets the play count updated, but no other songs. I listened to an album on my phone and the next day the first song (only the first song) had the play count updated. Same for a play list. If Apple is going to raise the price of the service, then the service should work.
