AppleTV not updating watched shows

AppleTV’s Continue Watching function does not update when shows are fully watched. I can only update them manually, one by one as watched. I have seen others post about this issue and I have tried restarting device, logging out/in of Apple ID and then checking for updates everyday. Nothing works. Any other ideas?
