How do I add clip art to a table in Pages without changing spacing?

I’ve tried using Pages. I’ve tried making them with a table. But when I add clip art, it just changes the spacing.

When you drop an image or artwork into a Pages table cell, it becomes a semi-transparent background behind the cell content and thus, does not alter that content spacing or alignment.

No changes occurred to the text spacing in the above example after I dropped Foghorn-Leghorn and Dawg into the cell. One can still triple-click on the cell to select the text and from the Text tab, alter the text content and its spacing if desired.

One has further control over the Image Fill fitment in the Cell tab. If you want to remove an image fill, you visit the Cell tab and set Image Fill to No Fill.
