Custom Gestures Repetitive Touch

I am trying to create a simple gesture -

1. Touch 1st button

2. Touch 2nd button

3, Repeat

I follow the instructions, as all YT Videos show, I click the Custom Gesture Shortcut, to Start the Gesture, the Grey Dots appear on the screen, I move them into position and nothing happens. I click the Custom Gesture Shortcut again, they Grey dots are where I moved them to and then they fade, after a few seconds, they do not click anything. What am I missing?
