Connecting iPad with 1.5A USB-C Port on Windows Laptop
Hello,
I have recently begun backing up my 2024 13" iPad Air to my Framework 16 running Windows 11. I have the latest version of Windows 11, latest iTunes and Apple Devices app, as well as the latest iOS update.
The Framework allows for 4 USB-C ports that can support up to 1.5A (from the laptop to a device). It also allows for 2 USB-C ports that support only 900 mA. More information about this setup is available on their site: https://knowledgebase.frame.work/expansion-card-slot-functionality-on-framework-laptop-16-rkUjGm7cn
When I attempt to connect the iPad to the 1.5A ports on the PC with the included Apple USB-C to USB-C cable, the "Do you want to trust this device?" dialog continuously pops up and instantly disappears from the iPad. It also starts and stops charging in the same loop. No data can be transferred.
I am posting in the Apple community because I do not believe that the issue is caused by Framework, seeing as the iPad works perfectly when connected to a 900 mA port.
I am wondering if any other PC users have found a remedy for this? It would be great to get more current from the PC to possibly charge the iPad quicker.
Thanks
iPad Air, iPadOS 18
