Why can't I find Apple Intelligence in System Settings after upgrading to macOS Sequoia?

I just upgraded my iMac to sequoia and saw the announcement about using Apple Intelligence but when I open System settings, there is no such choice. Is this because I am using ethernet to access the internet?

Apple Intelligence is only available on Mac computers with Apple silicon, and only in certain languages and regions. You can view all the requirements here: How to get Apple Intelligence - Apple Support. Crucially, Apple Intelligence is currently only available in English, and not in the EU or China.

If your Mac should be eligible, you can download it by going to System Settings > Siri, then toggling Apple Intelligence on or enrolling in the waitlist.
