Reminders not syncing across Apple devices

I tell Siri to set up a reminder, and it only shows up on the device that I set it up instead of across all my devices, which is what it used to do when Apple built software that worked. Even if I just go into Reminders on my phone and set up the reminder, it’s not showing up across my iPad or my computer.

yes, every bit of software is updated on every device. Yes I am in iCloud on every device.

Can’t believe I’m the only person who has this problem. If anybody’s got any suggestions, I’m all ears.

By the way, the Tags at the bottom in terms of devices etc. is woefully limited . Apple was better than this previously.

To ensure that Reminders sync properly across your devices, make sure of the following:

  1. Apple ID Consistency: All devices must be signed in using the same Apple ID. If even one device is using a different account, it won’t share reminders with the others.
  2. iCloud Reminders Enabled: On each device, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud, and ensure that the Reminders toggle is turned on. This allows reminders to sync through iCloud.
  3. Stable Internet Connection: All devices need an active and stable Wi-Fi or cellular connection. iCloud syncing relies on internet access, so if a device is offline, it won’t receive updates until it's reconnected.

Find out how to update your iCloud reminders after you update to iOS 13 or later and iPadOS.

Please see the two pics below. Reminders from all the email accounts are not enabled on the iPhone.

Thanks for the response. I’ve checked all the things in the list previously as I had this working previously. I find that going from one big version of iOS to another, It’s amazing how many things get changed after the installation without me doing it.

I appreciate your time. I think I’ve got it working, but I should also let you know that your figures below your text really weren’t helpful because the resolution is not that great and there’s so much that’s been hidden which I understand that I can’t tell what your points are just from looking at those pictures.

Thanks again.

Hi Diane,

I had the same frustrating thing, and discovered that under Settings - Reminders - Default List, on my ipad I had reminders going to yahoo reminders list, not the icloud reminders list.

On my iphone I hadn’t setup one of the email accounts for yahoo, so that reminder wasn’t showing up.

I unticked yahoo reminders on my ipad in Settings - Reminders - Default List.

Now I am creating reminders in icloud on BOTH iphone and ipad and they are synching.

The fact that its possible to accidentally create reminders somewhere else, …. ugh, I wish they would just default to icloud only initially, and make it clear what happens when reminders are turned on for other non apple products like yahoo mail.
