Unable to remove all cookies and history from Safari on MacBook Pro

I have recently upgraded to Sonoma 14.0, when I try to remove history with history drop down, several sites remain. if I go to safari-settings-privacy etc. and ask to remove all, still some sites remain. how do I completely clear history?

in macOS Ventura Safari search history doesn't appear in the drop down menu Up until recently my search history always appeared in the "History" drop down menu in Safari. Recently the history stopped appearing. I can only see my history by selecting "Show All History". How can I correct this? I'm using Mac Safari version 16.3 on a MacBook Pro (2021) using macOS Ventura 13.2.1.
