Thanks for your reply, @PRP_53
I'm not sure if I was clear enough in my post. The issue is not about recognising where my MacBook is located. The problem is that macOS Maps seems unable to locate (maybe parse?) the address which has the form:
<<house name>>, <<street name>>, <<town name>> etc
It can happily locate (and therefore parse) something with the form:
<<house number>> <<street name>>, <<town name>> etc
Moreover, if I type my home address in the search box, it correctly locates my house. It offers me the opportunity to add this address to Favourites. If I do that, it creates the Favourite so I now have a map pin with the newly created Favourite exactly where my house is. But Maps still refuses to see that I have the same address as my "Home" in my contact record.
It really is strange behaviour.
OP original wrote " I live in a village where I have no house number, but a house name. "
OP wrote " Moreover, if I type my home address in the search box, it correctly locates my house "
Which of the two statements are accurate ?
FYI - my Physical mailing address and the address in Contacts application >> match
My Computers ( 3 ) running macOS 15.3.2 Sequoia and my iPhone 15 Pro with iOS 18.3.2
When using Maps Version 3.0 (2864.23.11.14.4) in Sequoia.
I will give my physical mailing location, as per Physical Location ( Home ) which does match the information in Contacts
Same goes for the iPhone 15 Pro
In effect, I am unable to duplication this issue
