Unable to use JBL Flip 4 mic with FaceTime on iPhone 16

My JBL Flip 4 has a microphone and I have used it for FaceTime with my IPhone 8+ for years. When I am connected to it on my IPhone 16, I cannot find a way to connect it as my external mic/speaker.
