New Mac Mini is asking for old deleted iPhone passcode to sign it n link to my current phone id cloud etc

So I have a new Mac mini when I try and link it to my phone it shows Apple 12 phone and that passcode. I removed that device from my Account months ago.

Update Apple Id Settings requires iPhone passcode and I don't have the phone any more My mac is showing in sys.prefs that I need to "Update Apple ID settings". When I click continue, I sign in with the apple id and then I am asked to sign in to the mac because icloud wants to make changes, which is fine and I sign in. THEN... I am asked to enter the 6 digit passcode I use to unlock my iPhone. Problem is, that phone was damaged a couple of years ago and is gone! I don't know what that passcode is and don't remember ever setting one anyway! So, I click 'Forgot Passcodes' and it says I can select another device to authorise this mac... but it doesn't offer me to use my ipad so I am stuck with only the one device, this old phone which as I say, is long gone! The only option it offers me is to cancel or 'reset icloud data', and if I select this it tells me that passwords, icloud home and stuff will be permanently deleted! So! What do I do? How do I update these settings without having a second device? I deleted the iPhone from my account settings/devices, which now only shows this mac and my ipad.... but the update routine described above is still asking me to enter the passcode for the old phone and it still DOES NOT offer me to use the ipad instead! Any ideas??

How can I access my iCloud without old passcode on iPhone 13? My old iPhone 13 is completely smashed. I am trying to log into my iCloud to download my information etc. when is asks for my previous devices passcode, it keeps telling me it’s incorrect when I know it’s the right code. Icloud is asking for passcode for an old iPhone Many years ago I had a work iPhone and a personal one - both were registered on my iCloud account. When I left the company, I handed back my work phone. I needed to update the iOS on my personal phone so I tried to sign in to my iCloud account. It requested my AppleID (fine) password (fine) passcode (fine) but then it requested the passcode for my old work phone, which was probably changed/reset but another employee. In fact it was an iPhone 6 so has probably been recycled by now. On iTunes I can access my account and only my personal phone is registered/visible there so I can't delete the old work phone there. But my personal phone won't let me into my iCloud account direct (because it wants my old work phone passcode) - I have to do it on my laptop through iTunes. Any ideas?

Getting Rid of an Old iPhone’s Passcode:

Unpair the iPhone from your Mac. Do so by trying off Handoff on both: Hand off tasks between Apple devices - Apple Support.
