Inconsistant Playlist Naming, Changing, Deleting Problems within Music App on Apple Mac Mini M2
I've been using iTunes for about 30 years. Now it's called Music (it's important to establish this because some people assume I'm talking about the streaming service). On Sonoma 14.7.4 (and a few previous versions), Music often cannot rename or delete playlists. Sometimes it can't even create them in the first place. The bug seems random. For example, if I attempt to rename a playlist, the new name appears in the header but not in the list at the left side. And it appears if I attempt to open up the edit dialogue box again. For some rogue playlists that I simply want to delete and start over again, a right-click shows NO context menu, as if it doesn't even exist. On some playlists, a right-click does show the context menu, but selecting DELETE doesn't actually delete it. Pressing delete on my keyboard also doesn't work.
Also, sometimes when I reboot Music, some changes I did (like adding songs, editing tags to songs, moving songs into playlists etc...) didn't stick! I've searched this and many people are experiencing the same bugs.
This seems clearly an Apple issue that needs to be fixed. I don't dare upgrade to OS Sequoia lest a lot of my other software stops working (as if often does with a new OS). But if I knew for certain the bugs are fixed but Apple will force me to upgrade to Sequoia to get this new version of Music, then I'd research all the software I use to make sure it's also compatible with Sequoia.
