Logic Pro X Controller Surfaces

I'm trying to set up my Akai MPK mini plus in controller surfaces on Logic Pro on my Macbook Pro M1, but for some reason, it doesn't seem like Logic Pro has the mini plus as an option- only the mini. Why is this happening, and how can I add other hardware to controller surfaces that isn't on Logic Pro such as the mini plus?

Hi,

Many Midi controllers are class compliant meaning you plug them in and they just work. Other controllers, you have to set up yourself. The good thing is that you can customize it to your liking. The not so awesome thing is that Control Surfaces in Logic Pro can be tough to navigate.

Here is a video that shows you how to "Learn an Assignment":

Hope this helps,

Sounds good. It seems like the big issue I'm running into now is I am still unsure on how to keep learning assignments saved to my MIDI after unplugging it from my laptop. I tested the controller assignments by doing two of them and they worked, then I saved the project, exited out of logic pro, then went back in and they worked again. BUT whenever I disconnect my MPK mini plus from my Mac Book pro, then reconnect it, and then open the project, the controller assignments are still there, but they don't work anymore on the MIDI, so what is the problem?
