back up iPod Touch on iTunes

I want to back up my ipod touch to my computer as I have done before. Plugged in, ipod is open. In itunes.

Does iTunes still provide a way to back up the iphone to a PC. Itunes no longer shows my iphone when I plug into the pc. I previously backed up my phone to the computer using itunes. Is this option no longer available?
