Claims: “The 2025 model now features user-accessible RAM slots, allowing for memory upgrades up to a whopping 512GB”

I have read many recent articles the last few days & nothing says the new Mac Studio M4 Max has user-accessible RAM slots.

I know the release date is 3-12-2025 so not possible to check yet but, I really doubt this is true.

Must pay Apple $200 to upgrade from 36 GB to 48 memory. Or $400 to go to 64 GB memory. Or $4,800 to go to 512GB!

Thanks for the Apple quote & thanks to everyone who replied.

I thought that article was too good to be true. I have had 2 iMacs and in both cases I ordered with the minimum memory and then bought a large amount of memory from reputable suppliers…such as Crucial… Same as I had done for years when I was using windows PCs.

The cost savings was substantial vs. ordering the Mac with more memory direct from Apple.

When I saw that article, I thought that it was amazing that Apple is allowing customers to upgrade their own memory. A few days ago, when I saw many articles regarding the impending launch date of the new Mac studio M4 Max and none of them mentioned anything about user accessible memory… I thought that article was flat out wrong.

I thought the Apple forums community would be able to give me a definitive answer… And you did!
