MacBook Pro 13, Late 2011: Maximum RAM Upgrade = 8GB??!!

According to Apple, a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Late 2011) Maximum memory = 8GB of RAM.

Am I reading this right? Or looking at outdated info, perhaps?

Since I read that some people were able to upgrade up to 16GB of RAM on these machines with no problems. Can anyone help confirm that in any way?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13

Hi, Samtyfm.. the max memory ( RAM) for that model is 16 GB per this link : https://everymac.com/actual-maximum-mac-ram/actual-maximum-macbook-pro-ram-capacity.html.. so 8 GB+ 8 GB and it’s a cheap upgrade too… buy your memory from a reputable vendor, eg OWC( macsales.com) . … current cost is $46+ shipping+tax..
