Apple TV A1842 4K 100mbps wired restricted speeds

i can’t reply to an old post on this topic so here is a new one.

my A1842  TV 4K gets 800Mbps on WiFi but with Cat6E LAN it gets only 94mbps every run.

i swapped cables and its directly to the modem. What can be this cause or restriction as others have asked this question but there was no follow up solution to the old posts.

i understand that 50Mbps is enough to utilize every feature of the device but why the restriction?

The model number you provided corresponds to a First Generation Apple TV 4K. There should be no restriction since the port on the Apple TV is Gigabit ethernet capable, that is 1000mbps.

If anything is restricting it, it would be external to the Apple TV. If not the cable, then either the port on the modem, or some setting there limiting the Apple TV's bandwidth specifically.

What is the min cable CAT needed to be over the 100mbps restriction please?

Technically a cat 5e or higher should work just fine for anything between 100mbps and 1000mbps.

It’s a short home run cable now that’s 15ft but I can run another one easy I’m sure. WiFi it’s blazing fast.if not the cable then I suspect the WiFi 6E smart auto switching ISP provided modem is self prioritizing BW somehow based on the UE Capability it’s receiving from the  TV ?

Hard to say. Maybe, but you would need to check that directly in the modem's admin page directly to consult with your ISP.

Thank you for confirming this. I will try another cable just to be sure. What is the min cable CAT needed to be over the 100mbps restriction please?
