Logic Pro volume export issue

I am using a macbook air, OS 14.7.1, LogicPro 11.1.2

I am recording a book being read. At the start of the track, just before the reading starts, there are some small unwanted sounds. Using the yellow volume automation line, I lowered the volume just where those unwanted sounds are. Listening to the playback on Logic Pro, the sounds are gone. However, when I export the track to a WAV file using File > Export > Track as Audio File, the unwanted sounds are there again.

Why does this happen? Does the WAV file ignore my volume controls?
